Tomorrow, myself and Conor Byrne (the two co-founders of ICE) will be setting off for Hamburg to board Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth for the CLIA Summit at Sea. The vessel will make its way West throughout the summit, eventually coming to dock back in the UK, in Southampton.
From our experience in the travel industry, technology is something that tends to be overlooked. In actual fact, the cruise industry relies fairly heavily on innovative technology to improve passenger experience and for the overall operating of cruise vessels. Future technology looks set to further transform the way passengers experience cruise voyages.
The four-day Summit at Sea will be an invaluable opportunity to discuss the important role of IT within the cruise industry amongst 95 of the industry’s front runners, from cruise operators such as Royal Caribbean and TUI cruises, to ship designers such as Tillberg Design. As personalised and wearable technology begin to proliferate the cruise market, we believe more must be done to monitor and standardise travel technology.
