It is time for your IT News Round-up Apr 2022. It was a huge month for theICEway as some of our team attended Seatrade Cruise Global 2022. The cruise industry’s premier event returned for Miami for the first time in a while. It gave attendees the chance to catch up on everything cruise-related – including the opportunity to interact with the latest technology. Today we look at what was another fantastic edition.

Seatrade Cruise Returns To Miami

Our friends at Seatrade Cruise were quick to thank all those who helped to make the latest edition a huge success. theICEway echoes that, having been present in a booth situated near to the Interactive Tech Zone, which we also managed.

The event welcomed thousands from the world of cruise along with suppliers and destinations. Representatives from 110 countries converged at the Miami Beach Convention Center, for what was the biggest global cruise industry gathering in 3 years.

Bertie Trevis, General Manager of our eTestware brand, was delighted with the event. “It was great to see everybody coming together to illustrate the resilience of the industry. All those who visited theICEway booth were excited for what the future holds. Many seemed to recognise us too, which was great to see after what has been a torrid time for cruise and the world in general.”

STC Global 2023 takes place next year from 1-4 May – we’ll be there, will you?

Innovation In IT For Cruise

The Interactive Tech Zone proved the perfect showcase for cutting-edge tech. Deployed by Seatrade Cruise in partnership with theICEway, it featured VR Headsets and an App prototyping workshop. The crown jewel of the Information Technology offering, attendees were eager to get to grips with the technology on show.

The zone was overseen by theICEway’s David Tibbles, who spent months planning everything. “It was great to see the tech zone come to life after lots of preparation for it. The people who visited all did so out of a genuine curiosity to see innovative cruise tech in action.”

That is all for your IT News Round-up Apr 2022, a slight departure from our previous tech updates. Nevertheless, we hope those of you who read it are just as excited as we are by the tremendous IT possibilities in the wonderful world of cruise.
