Seatrade Cruise Global 2022

April 2022 saw the latest edition of the cruise industry's top event take place in Miami. The team from theICEway were there to celebrate ICE's 15th Birthday. They were also heavily involved in the IT content at the show, including a brand new feature: The Interactive Tech Zone from theICEway.

ICE Support Ltd. was founded in 2007 as a UK MSP and tech consultancy and has gone on to become a global enterprise. Our IT experts have flourished in many industries since then and in cruise in particular. Our IT for cruise offering includes tzChromar, a time zone management solution. In addition, we are proud to have been involved in dry dock projects. Our specialists are also highly skilled with Seaware, MXP and more.

As part of theICEway ecosystem, our people from ICE, CRIBB Cyber Security and eTestware were thrilled to be at STC Global 2022. Our booth proved to be very popular and it was positioned next to theICEway managed Interactive Tech Zone. This gave attendees the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology including VR headsets, Facial recognition and Rapid APP prototyping. Our Co-founder and CEO, Ian Richardson, also the Seatrade Cruise Global Tech Ambassador, was not at the event. He did however participate in an IT panel, in a programme that saw a large contribution from theICEway.

STC Global returns to the Miami Convention Centre

The biggest cruise industry gathering since 2019

We're delighted to say that the latest edition of STC Global was a huge success.

Attended by thousands of cruise industry executives and leaders, the Miami Beach Convention Center was taken over for four days. Suppliers and destinations from 110 countries also joined in with the networking and insightful panel sessions. Together, everyone at the event helped to make it one to remember.

There was a very positive atmosphere as the cruise industry once again demonstrated its resilience. It continues to work back to full strength, with lessons learned during the pandemic shared. This level of collaboration will surely see the pre-Covid-19 cruise heights reached once more and even surpassed. New and returning brands from across the supply chain were out in force to illustrate that.

Next year's edition is set to take place from 1-4 May 2023 in Miami again - theICEway will be there, will you?

Co-Founder and Managing Director of theICEway, Conor Byrne, was there. His fellow Co-Founder and our CEO, Ian Richardson, could not attend however. At least, not in the flesh...!

The Interactive Tech Zone, in partnership with theICEway

An innovative new feature for 2022

This edition of Seatrade Cruise Global gave attendees something new to experience. The Interactive Tech Zone proved to be an engaging and educational area of the show floor. theICEway's David Tibbles led the proceedings and was delighted with how everything went: "The prototyping conversations and outcomes were brilliant. Everybody that came into the zone did so through a tangible thirst for innovative tech - happily, they were not disappointed."

As Seatrade Cruise Tech Ambassador, Ian Richardson and theICEway joined forces with Seatrade Cruise on this new feature. The hope was that it would be a stand-out element within the event. That hope was more than met, with partners including Sourcetoad, Lufthansa Industry Solutions and Kilo all making huge contributions towards its success. Attendees learnt about innovative technology, including VR headsets and emotion recognition technology.

An app prototyping workshop also ran live throughout the event, proving to be another popular attraction. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all those involved, including the amazing Tech Zone staff.
