Cruising’s First NFT Collection Unveiled By Norwegian Cruise Line

Seatrade Cruise News published this piece on NCL’s NFTs at the beginning of April. The cruise line is embracing the metaverse with this move, partnering with Italian artist ‘Peeta’. As you can read in the NCL Newsroom, his NFT collection was auctioned on April 13th and sold out in 20 minutes.

*For those not in the know, NFT stands for ‘Non Fungible Token’. An NFT is similar to cryptocurrency (i.e., Bitcoin) but cannot be traded or exchanged. Instead, it is a digital asset that represents real-world objects. In the case above, NCL’s NFTs represented art pieces. NFTs can be bought and sold online and this is frequently done using cryptocurrency.
