ICEbreaker, March 2019

by ICE ICT Editor | March 29, 2019 | | 0 Comments

Hello and welcome to our monthly newsletter, ICEbreaker from ICE, the travel technology IT consultants.

This month’s highlights include touchless tech using radar and ultrasound, don’t forget to fill your AI roles, 10 travel trends and could you be the Voice of the Ocean for 2019? We’ll see you in the final.

We enjoyed another eventful TTE this month. Richie liked contributing to the Travolution panel and it was good to see so many of you there. As a specialist in digital transformation we had some interesting conversations with companies who are operating travel systems that are 5-7 years old. At this point, yet another upgrade may not be the best solution. You know where we are if you want some unbiased advice.

Meanwhile, good to see so many positive conversations around digitalization at Shippax this month with ferry operators creating operational plans for digital roadmaps.

On Wednesday 10th April, Richie is speaking at Seatrade Global in Miami wearing his CLIA Executive Partner Technology Initiative hat. Come and see him at the Cruising Innovations Theatre at 9:45am as he shares thoughts on the opportunities and threats around cruise hyper-connectivity. Please do email Lois to book a slot to meet up. It would be great to see you there.

Finally, like all of you, our thoughts are with the passengers, crew and colleagues of Viking Sky. We’re relieved that the cruise ship arrived safely back at port and wish everyone well.

Until then,

Ian Richardson (Richie) and Conor Byrne
(ICE's founders)
