Innovation Hub

Welcome to our news and blog section. Here you will find the latest updates from theICEway and our IT specialists at ICE. We are frequently invited to attend and speak at industry events, so if you don’t want to miss out on those, this is the page for you.

With more than 20 years’ worth of experience in cruise, travel and healthcare, you will also be able to read more about these key sectors. Of course, at the heart of it all is Information Technology – which some of you may know as ‘IT’ – and we’ll certainly include news on that.

Our ecosystem of companies was founded upon 3 guiding principles, or values: People, integrity and innovation. We always aim to infuse our every effort with one or all of these. The first, ‘people’, includes not only our people, but also those we work alongside each day. If you are reading this, then you can rest assured that it also includes you.

As such, we welcome your comments and feedback so do join in the conversation. You can also follow us on social media using the links below.

Cruise Tech Solutions, a new ID & Covid

by Asa Sargeant | December 30, 2020 | General News & Events | 0 Comments

Cruise tech solutions were our focus at the start of the year. Now, 2020 is almost at an end. The general consensus must be that it has been a tough, tough year. A certain pandemic has changed the focus of many. It has dominated the headlines and continues to do so. It has affected us all and will do so in 2021 and beyond. Thankfully, many have demonstrated a clear resolve to keeping calm and to carrying on. Today we look at some of the key points from a year that will live in infamy.

Cruise Tech Solutions and ICE

12 months ago, the team at ICE were clear on what we wanted from the year. As specialists in cruise, we were looking to release innovative solutions to aid the industry. As IT specialists, we wanted to continue in our work with clients to deliver results. The many different services available through ourselves plus our sister brands is enviable. It can also be quite confusing at times, even to us! So we also knew that we wanted to change our identity somewhat.

Top Tip (Tech Solutions)

This year took a different path to the one we had imagined for it back in late 2019. We had made many plans involving certain actions and outcomes. The plans changed, as did the actions. Some of the outcomes, however, remained as forecasted.

The Innovation page on our new website contains details on the products we launched in 2020. There you will see solutions for cruise including a security framework and a unique time synchronisation device.

Our aim is to use cutting-edge technology to augment the cruise experience for crew and guests alike. This industry has welcomed us for over 20 years, so we are delighted to be in this position.

A New ID

theICEway was not created in 2020. That particular occurrence took place many years previous. It can certainly be said that it was crafted in 2020, though. Many of those reading this will remember the old ICE website. Look closely and you will still see elements of that identity even now. That's because ICE has been such an integral part of theICEway for so long. It will continue to be, but joined now in earnest by CRIBB Cyber Security and eTestware. Our ICE Innovation arm is also gathering momentum, as seen in the Top Tip section above.

These brands are specialists in their fields and we are fortunate to count experienced professionals amongst their ranks. Use the links above to take a look at the websites for each. You will see that each one shares a common identity. We have worked very hard to bring this to life. We'll be working just as hard in 2021 to ensure they flourish individually and collectively.

Covid-19

It would be remiss not to touch upon the driving force of 2020. Covid-19 has brought devastation in many forms this year. Even now, efforts to combat it are faced with an uphill struggle. We are all in this together, and theICEway fully embraced this spirit.

You may remember our remote routines series of blog pieces from earlier in the year. Our people showed spirit and drive to help themselves and others get through this difficult year. We are tremendously proud of all of them. Remote working certainly took some getting used to. They did it with good grace and always stayed positive. Through their efforts we have managed to stay on course this year. Our plans changed and so in turn did their efforts. They showed dedication and application in droves, helping theICEway in its ongoing journey onwards and upwards.

Conclusion

2020 was a strange year but one we will never forget. From the many negatives we were fortunate to be able to draw many positives. Next year will be another challenging one but so many of you have shown how we can emerge on the other side. We would not be in the position we are in without your support. For that, we are eternally grateful.
