Innovation Hub

Welcome to our news and blog section. Here you will find the latest updates from theICEway and our IT specialists at ICE. We are frequently invited to attend and speak at industry events, so if you don’t want to miss out on those, this is the page for you.

With more than 20 years’ worth of experience in cruise, travel and healthcare, you will also be able to read more about these key sectors. Of course, at the heart of it all is Information Technology – which some of you may know as ‘IT’ – and we’ll certainly include news on that.

Our ecosystem of companies was founded upon 3 guiding principles, or values: People, integrity and innovation. We always aim to infuse our every effort with one or all of these. The first, ‘people’, includes not only our people, but also those we work alongside each day. If you are reading this, then you can rest assured that it also includes you.

As such, we welcome your comments and feedback so do join in the conversation. You can also follow us on social media using the links below.

ICE in 2022: theICEway cometh

In recent months we have published a series of articles on our upcoming birthday. ICE in 2022 turns 15 years old and we’re changing a few things. Today we take a sneak peek at what you can expect.

The Evolution Of ICE Continues

To learn more about how we started life, read our blog ‘ICE Technology Services & theICEway: Beginnings’.

Conor Byrne and Ian Richardson, co-founders of theICEway ecosystem, joined forces in 1995. After 12 successful years together, they created ICE Support Ltd. in 2007.

In the ensuing years, this became addressed simply as ICE by many. Others came to know it as ICE Technology Services, whilst others still described it as ‘ICE-ICT’. As Conor, Ian and the team added more services and sub-brands throughout the 2010’s, they coined the term ‘theICEway ecosystem’ to describe what they were building together.

A name by itself was not enough and so they deployed different iterations of branding. This culminated in an official unveiling of the ecosystem moniker at Seatrade Cruise Virtual in 2020.

And now?

TheICEway Ecosystem Embraces Further Change

This year, as ICE’s 15th Birthday arrives in May, we’ve decided to embrace change again. If there is one thing we have learned about delivering IT solutions, it is that you need to be agile. Scalability is a crucial part of the tech world, hence the way that our ecosystem has developed.

First there was ICE, then there was ICE and eTestware. Recognising the need to build out our cyber security offering, we then introduced CRIBB Cyber Security into the equation. Each of these IT brands has a distinct offering, which when combined, allows us to deliver end-to-end digital transformation. This holistic effect paved the way for – well, theICEway ecosystem.

ICE becomes theICEway

This year we are streamlining our main brand identity whilst delivering the same services, products and solutions. So it is a case of from ICE to theICEway – it’s as simple as that. Also:

- eTestware set for growth in 2022
- CRIBB Cyber Security, repositioning in 2022

More on these points to come in a future article…

Seatrade Cruise Global 2022 And The Interactive Tech Zone From TheICEway

We have partnered up with Seatrade Cruise to create this brand-new addition for STC Global. For the first time, attendees will be able to visit an engaging, educational and interactive tech zone. A veritable ‘IT playground’, this area will feature VR headsets, emotion recognition technology, dynamic digital displays, AR for crew training and more.

One potentially show-stopping feature is sure to be the new app prototyping workshop. This will be running live for the entire event, allowing attendees the chance to bring their ideas to life.

Find out more about the tech zone and the full Information Technology offering at STC Global 2022.

So then, there is plenty to look forwards to from ICE in 2022. Or should that be, from theICEway in 2022…
