by Asa Sargeant | September 8, 2021 | General News & Events | 0 Comments

It is time for another look back at some of the previous month’s tech updates. In July, we heard about a GDPR fine for Amazon and discovered the identity of 2020’s biggest app. Today we’ll hear about another high-profile data breach and look at innovation in healthcare. Read on for your IT news round-up Aug 2021…

T-Mobile Data Breach Affects 40m

This BBC News story revealed the latest cyber-attack against a well-known brand. Another piece on BBC News is this one, highlighting further innovation within the healthcare industry. No strangers to innovation ourselves, much of our work takes place in healthcare. This story therefore stood out during our search through the August headlines. Similarly, this article – also from the BBC – looks at cutting-edge tech within the health sector. 22-year-old Joseph Bentley won the prestigious award for his innovative ‘React’ device. Designed to help stem bleeding from stab wounds, ‘Rapid Emergency Actuating Tamponade’ inflates a silicone balloon into wounds. As well as the award, Mr Bentley also received £2,000 towards developing his concept. If it does succeed, that will be money well spent.
